The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum currently offers two different types of lesson plans: standard lesson plans and 10 minute lesson plans.

10 Minute Lesson Plans

Please click the lesson plan titles below to download a copy of our 10 Minute Lesson Plans. These lesson plans are designed to cover Social Studies Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in a short 10 to 15 minute lesson plan.

  • Texas Rangers: The Beginning- Why Stephen F. Austin chose to create the Texas Rangers to defend the early settlers in 1823 (4th Grade)
  • Texas Rangers and Technology- A look at how the Texas Rangers have adapted to changing times and new technology (4th grade)
  • Texas Rangers and Transportation- How the Texas Rangers have adapted to and used new methods of transportation as they were developed (4th grade)
  • The Fence Cutting Wars- Why the Fence Cutting Wars (1883-1888) were fought and what the Texas Rangers did to end them (4th grade)
  • The Mexican American War- How the news coverage of the Mexican American War (1846-1848) shaped the nation's perception of the Texas Rangers (5th grade)
