  • The only US law enforcement agency to have served under five flags —
    • Mexico (1823-1836)
    • the Republic of Texas (1836-1846)
    • the United States (1846-1861)
    • Confederate Texas (1861-1865)
    • the United States (1870-)
  • A prominent feature of American history and Pop Culture appearing in more than 200 motion pictures, television and radio shows, music, documentaries and thousands of books.

We are seeking $100.00 individual and family contributors to help safeguard this Texas and American Heritage™ for future generations. With your contribution, you will receive:

  1. A limited edition enameled bronze pin featuring the official Bicentennial seal
  2. A certificate signed by an active or distinguished retired Texas Ranger*
  3. Your name or family name on the online roster of Bicentennial Partners™
  4. A one-time-use family admission ticket (admits 4) to the Museum.

*Please note that we cannot offer custom signed certificates. We can issue a blank certificate to you upon request.

$90 of the contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame is a 170(c) government-owned nonprofit.

The Ramp up to 2023

More than 4 million persons have visited this historical center since it opened in 1968. Generous private contributors, corporations, foundations, and artifact donors have already made many improvements possible on the road to 2023:

  • The new Tobin and Anne Armstrong Texas Ranger Research Center, the first dedicated historical law enforcement library and archives in the nation.
  • The Texas Rangers Company “F” Headquarters Building and Education Center in memory of Capt. Bob Mitchell.
  • Renovation of the 8,000 sf John Knox Center banquet facility.
  • Creation of the Distinguished Service on-line database,honoring living retired Texas Rangers,

  • A cable television series, Discovering the Legend, with 44 episodes distributed statewide,

  • Exhibit improvements to four galleries of the Homer Garrison Texas Ranger Museum.
  • A Bicentennial Book Publications Program that now has 18 hardcover titles. One sold out in three months; another made the New York Times Bestseller list; another The Ranger Ideal, is an 1,800 page three-volume set of Texas Ranger Hall of Fame biographies.
  • Restoration of the historic c.1851 portrait of Sam Houston — Republic of Texas President and the first US senator from Texas.
